(AUP) |
|
 |
 |
 |
ASCC is concerned that its customers benefit from their use
of our services, and that their use is respectful of
our other customers and other users of the Internet.
Assuring this requires that its subscribers practice
ethical and responsible behavior in their use of the
network. With this as a guideline, the following criteria
will be used to determine whether activities are acceptable
uses of the services provided by ASCC:
- The
use of ASCC’s
services and/or facilities to transmit information whose
content or meaning, or its distribution or transmission,
violates any applicable laws or regulations is prohibited,
including, but not limited to, laws or regulations pertaining
to pornographic or copyrighted material.
- Activities
which disrupt or interfere with the performance or
functional behavior of networks or systems accessible
via ASCC’s services
and/or facilities are prohibited. Such interference or
disruption includes, but is not limited to: propagation
of computer worms or viruses; the transmission of information
which, by virtue of its content, amount, or routing,
degrades the performance, functionality, or reliability
of any network or system.
- Activities
which interfere with personal productivity, privacy,
or comfort of users of systems or networks accessible
via ASCC’s services
and/or facilities are prohibited. Such interference or
disruption includes, but is not limited to: distribution
of unsolicited advertising, recruiting materials, or
commercial email; transmission of annoying amounts of
information not desired by the recipient(s); impersonating
another user; transmission of information with falsified
headers; attempting to gain access to private personal
information of another user; attempting to gain access
to or use the passwords or access codes of another
user; and altering or deleting information belonging
to another user.
- Information
and resources accessible via ASCC’s services
and/or facilities are considered private to the individuals
and organizations which own or hold rights to them
unless specifically stated otherwise. Thus, the use
of ASCC’s services
and/or facilities to make unauthorized access to, or
use of, information or the computing or communication
systems at other sites accessible via ASCCnet is prohibited.
- Unless
specifically authorized, the resale or redistribution
of ASCC’s services
and/or facilities is prohibited.
Each ASCC
customer site must assure that its users know and abide
by ASCC’s
Acceptable Use Policy.
ASCC customers
which are found to be in violation of this policy are
subject to termination of ASCC’s services,
with the forfeiture of any and all fees paid.
